The Values Behind Our Work

Fresh Coast Counseling aims to create a workplace where employees can focus on meaningful work without unnecessary chaos. We value clear roles, protected

time for documentation and planning, thoughtful supervision, practical teamwork, respectful communication, and the ability to raise concerns early.

Our team works together to protect youth safety and dignity while helping children, adolescents, and families build stronger skills and clearer paths forward.

Strengths-Based Care

We recognize the abilities, interests, relationships, protective factors, and potential each young person and family already brings. Treatment builds from strengths rather than defining youth by symptoms or difficult behavior.

Safety and Dignity

We protect physical and emotional safety, client rights, privacy, and developmental dignity. Youth are treated with respect—even during their hardest moments.

Connection and Relationships

We believe meaningful growth happens through safe, trusting relationships. Staff use curiosity, empathy, co-regulation, and connection rather than shame, punishment, or power struggles.

Youth and Family Partnership

Youth and families have important knowledge, preferences, strengths, and goals. They are active participants in treatment planning, progress reviews, safety planning, and decisions about next steps.

Individualized, Responsive Care

Care is shaped around each youth’s developmental needs, culture, identity, communication style, family circumstances, strengths, safety, and treatment goals—not a one-size-fits-all model.

Growth Through Practice

Change happens through learning, repetition, reflection, accountability, repair, and support. Youth practice practical skills that can carry into home, school, relationships, and community life.
