A Different Kind of Support for Kids, Teens, and Families
Fresh Coast Counseling was created to give young people a place to receive meaningful, structured mental health support while remaining connected to their families, schools, and communities.
When Weekly Therapy
Isn’t Enough
Families sometimes find themselves in an uncomfortable middle ground. A child may be struggling too much for one therapy appointment each week to provide enough support, while still not needing inpatient or residential treatment.
Fresh Coast Counseling was designed for that space—a structured, community-based day treatment program where youth can receive more intensive support while continuing to live at home and remain connected to the
people and places that matter to them.
The Values Behind Our Work
Strengths-Based Care
We recognize the abilities, interests, relationships, and potential each young person already brings. Treatment builds from strengths rather than defining youth by symptoms or difficult behavior.
Safety & Dignity
Young people deserve respect, privacy, emotional and physical safety, and developmentally appropriate care—even during difficult moments.
Connection & Relationships
We believe meaningful growth happens through safe, trusting relationships, curiosity, co-regulation, and connection rather than shame or power struggles.
Youth & Family Partnership
Youth and families bring important knowledge, preferences, strengths, and goals and are active participants in treatment.
Individualized, Responsive Care
Care is shaped around each youth's developmental needs, strengths, communication style, circumstances, safety, and treatment goals.
Growth Through Practice
Change happens through learning, repetition, reflection, accountability, repair, and support. Youth have opportunities to practice skills they can use beyond the program.
Rooted in Safety, Connection, and Growth
· Strengths-Based · Trauma-Informed · Developmentally Responsive ·
· Family-Centered · Collaborative · Culturally Responsive ·
At Fresh Coast, behavior is viewed as communication—not simply something to stop or correct. Our team works to understand what may be underneath a young person’s behavior, build safety and connection, support regulation, and teach practical skills while maintaining clear expectations and accountability. Treatment is adapted to the youth rather than expecting every youth to respond to the same approach.
Developmentally Distinct Programs
Separate children’s and adolescent programs reflect different developmental needs.
Individualized Care in a
Connected Program
Fresh Coast Counseling is intentionally focused on children and adolescents. Our two developmentally distinct programs allow treatment, communication, activities, and support to be tailored to different stages of growth.
Each youth has an individualized treatment plan, while families and involved providers
remain important partners throughout care.
Individual Treatment Plans
Services and goals are shaped
around the individual youth.
Family Partnership
Families participate in treatment planning, progress discussions, and transition preparation.
Coordinated
Care
With appropriate authorization, Fresh Coast works with schools, providers, prescribers, and community supports.
